June saw H-D celebrate women riders in a two daylong event. The event was held in Milwaukee the birthplace of H-D. Even ladies without a driving license could experience the thrill of a Harley Davidson. They partied the day and night away with live music, tours of museum and seminars. Finally they took to the open road on a parade headed by Karen Davidson, the great granddaughter of the company's founders. It was said that many ladies wore pink gear giving their support against breast cancer. You maybe aware that H-D actively supports the Pink Label Collection and part of the proceeds will be given to the cause. After the Parade the street party began fuelled with a warm atmosphere.
Harley Davidson continues to give back to the local community via their foundation.
H-D Foundation Grants give back in three ways:
They started in 1993 and since then the Foundation has flourished, employees volunteer their time to the cause and in return H-D gives an hourly-rate to the organisation. The Foundation focuses on Education and community revival. Since 1993 they have provided $25 million in grants and contributed to more than one thousand non-profit organisations.
Muscular Dystrophy Association
H-D have been a national supporter of the association for 30 years, they are committed to improving communities and helping to support MDA. Between H-D, customers and suppliers they have raised a massive $65 million to aid research and services for children and adults suffering with Muscular Dystrophy.
