Derbi was started back in 1922 by Mr Simon Rabassa i Signla, he started out with a small garage but this soon matured into the main Manufacturer in Spain. Derbi is celebrating 88 years in the business this year. They still persue technical evolution which could be why they have had continued success in this industry. They are also involved with racing, they first participated in the World Championship 1962. Angel Nieto from Spain was a key factor in their racing success he won five world titles, 2 of which where in the 125cc category.

The European hub is based in Barcelona where they concentrate on design and innovation. They endeavour to be the best in the market of 50cc - 125cc for their loyal customers.
