Gorden Francis and Arthur Barnett combined their talents in 1919 to create a lightweight motorcycle. This reasonably priced mode of transport soon became a firm favourite with riders. This British business started in Coventry and the first Barnett to be produced was a 292cc side valve J.A.P. engine with a two speed Strumey Archer gearbox. After that came the Pullman, a 344cc vertical in-line machine with a two-stroke Villiers engine. This motorcycle made quite an impact on the public when it became available in 1928. Sadly these beautiful machines are no longer manufactured.
